I Am Frustrated

by AJ Mihrzad on

I am frustrated. It’s now been 3 months since my surgery. I was expecting to heal normally, but I can’t even walk up the stairs as I did before. Even my surgeon feels that something is wrong, I may have to get another procedure to be able to walk again.

I’m doing everything in my power to get better. I’m spending most of my day stretching, pushing myself through pain,

and going to physical therapy, but I’m not healing according to plan.

By no means am I acting like a victim…

I am just venting.

I’m doing my best to deal with the fact that I can’t move as I did before.

Currently, it is a dream for me to be able to walk up a flight of steps without assistance or to run and even do a simple squat.

Although I’m frustrated.

At the same time, I’m Grateful to make progress and be able to take a few steps (even though I have a mean limp).

Since I’ve mostly been immobilized for the past 3 months.

I guess there’s a lesson in everything.

The biggest lesson that I’m learning is that of Acceptance.

My accident taught me that I must no longer Force things or to Expect things to be a certain way.

I always remind myself to “Do my best and forget the rest”

I feel most at peace when I live in a state of Acceptance.

Expectation leads to suffering.

Again, I am not sharing this to get sympathy, but rather to remind us that Life happens for Us.

When you know in your heart that Everything happens for a reason, Life Flows with Ease.

One day we will look back and understand why it had to happen
the way it did.
